FENG SHUI SIMPLY |
||
When someone asks you, “Tell me about yourself,” do you answer with what you do for a living, where you live, or a list of your credentials and degrees? Or do you tap into your true identity and reveal what you love about your life and how you express it every day? If you feel like you are running on empty, can’t wait to take a nap, or blaming your lack of energy on low blood sugar, then perhaps you have not found your true purpose in life. When you are aware of your life purpose, you begin to design a life that truly fits you, using the treasure chest of your talents and ideas that is as unique to you as your own fingerprint. It becomes the blueprint of your well-being. In feng shui, life mirrors nature in that you plant a seed in rich soil, give it plenty of sun and water, and allow it to unfold. It’s not any different in discovering what is your true nature, or what comes natural for you. Knowing what your life is to be used for creates a drive that is very powerful. You are born with original talent and potential. The mechanics of the how-to is acquired during the course of your life. We get caught up in the notion that there are people out there that are like us, only better. That is untrue. You just have to allow your best self to emerge by doing only what you truly love to do. Imagining your ideal life can feel daunting so begin by designing your ideal day. Take a moment to abandon any obstacle, such as fear, money, or a technical education. Just fantasize what you would like your ideal day to look like, from morning to night. Do you awake to alarm or sleep until you naturally wake up? Do you have 20 minutes to meditate with a cup or tea or do you like to leisurely read the morning paper? If you have to work to create income, what job or career would it be? What kind of work would you be performing? When you return home at the end of the day, who greets you? A partner, a pet, or both? How do you spend your leisure time? Do you invite friends over or retreat to a good book or project? Record your ideal day in a journal in the present tense, just as if it was happening today. Now you can decide what parts are indispensable to your happiness. It may surprise you to know that with some simple planning you can enjoy the very things you say make up your ideal day right now. There is no reason to postpone happiness! Some elements of your day may be optional but still important to you, and others can be pure fantasy (an evening sail on your 50 foot yacht.) When you focus on your priorities, you can create a strategy plan to obtain it. Now you can prepare an action plan to obtain your ideal day. Does it require education, experience, additional money or training? You may have to begin a savings program, volunteer or intern in your free time to gain experience, or go to night school. Perhaps someone will be excited about your pursuit and offer to sponsor you, invest in your future, or take you in as a part-time employee to learn the skills on the job. Is there a role model out there that inspires you? Then ask for an informational interview with them. With 20 minutes, you can find out how they achieved their success and what are the key steps to get there. Do not feel that what you are doing now you are stuck with. Your life is not a life sentence. Your life should feel easy, fun and fulfilling. When you chase the inspiration, the money will follow, and you will have the energy to go for it! You’ll be healthier, happier, and lots of fun to be around. Like-minded people are attracted to each other. There are tons of examples all around us of people who have started a second career or activity in the second half of their life. They are successful as they are focused on what they want, are more mature about how to achieve it, and have life experience to proceed without fear or a lack of motivation.
